Shark Tale
Oscar (Will Smith) is a fast-talking little fish who dreams big. But his big dreams land him in hot water when a great white lie turns him into an unlikely hero. At first, his fellow fish swallow Oscar’s story hook, line and sinker and he is showered with fame and fortune. It’s all going along swimmingly, until it starts to become clear that Oscar’s tale about being the defender of the Reef is all wet. Oscar is finding out that being a hero comes at a Market Price when his lie threatens to make him the Catch of the Day. Now he has to tread water until he can get the scales to tip back in his favor again.

Did you know? (info taken from imdb.com)
The original title was "Sharkslayer", but it was changed to "Shark Tale" about a year before release because Jeffrey Katzenberg thought the title might scare families away (the title still appears in some early promotional material). The change is clear in the movie, as in the song before the credits, the singers interlock between calling the movie "Sharkslayer" and "Shark Tale".

The magazine that Mrs. Sanchez is reading features an ad for a movie called "The Hook", which is a parody of The Ring (2002).

Some of the 'fishified' products are "Coral Cola", "Gup", "Fish King" and "Newsreeves".

In the racetrack sequence, there are more than 16,000 computer animated 3D characters in the stands.

In the middle of the fight against the shark, Oscar repeats famous movie quotes ("Are you not entertained" from Gladiator (2000), "You can't handle the truth" from A Few Good Men (1992) and so on). He ends with "You had me at hello", to which Angie raises an eyebrow. Angie's character is voiced by Renée Zellweger, and in Jerry Maguire (1996), where that quote originates from, the character played by Zellweger said that.

For each international release, the role of the news reporter "Katie Current" was recast to a prominent female news anchor of that country. For example, in the Australian release it is 'Tracey Grimshaw' , the co-anchor of the Australian "Today" (1982) show; in the UK version, it is Fiona Phillips, presenter of "GMTV" (1993) and in the Italian version, it is Cristina Parodi, anchor-woman of Verissimo.
